Kat likes to forage things when we go for our woodland walks.
Probably our favourite patch of woods locally isĀ Blidworth Bottoms: an area of pine, oak, and birch managed by the Forestry Commission south of Sherwood Forest near Ravenshead.
Kat has a real thing for ferns, and autumn turns the undergrowth here into a crunchy sea of umbers, reds, and greys. We took a long walk to see if the undergrowth had started to turn, but it’s still as green as ever.
